About

Lennart 3000

A machine. He does not have a favourite key, a difficult period, or a view on reverb, though he behaves as though he has all three.

Mikael plays him a sketch: piano, strings, whatever it started as. Lennart takes it somewhere Mikael would not have gone, usually too far. Mikael takes back the half that was a good idea, arranges it properly, and masters it himself. Lennart has never once apologised.

Why he has a name

Being plain about it: Lennart is how this site refers to the generative step in the tracks that have one. It is a joke with a real job. A credit people read is better than a disclaimer people skip. Where a track says Mikael & Lennart 3000, a machine was genuinely involved. Where it says Mikael, one was not.

You can listen to the tracks he worked on, or filter him out entirely. Some clients have rules about this, and it should be easy to answer rather than something you have to ask about.

What he never gets credit for

Every track Lennart touched also carries the sketch he was played, free to download on the track's page. That part is entirely Mikael Hellman's, it is usually the better story, and Lennart has no claim on it whatsoever.

Contacting him

You cannot. Lennart does not check email. Write to Mikael instead, and he will decide whether to pass it on.
